Showcase EventWhen Words Collide presents: the bigger, bolder, more-fabulous-than-ever Saturday Night Showcase - featuring an 80's themed Drag Show and Dance Party!
Glitter, heels, huge hair, and rock-and-roll flair - Join us for a nostalgic evening of all things 80's. Costumes, DJ, dancing, cocktails, food and trivia. And no 80's party would be complete without an 80's themed DRAG SHOW! This year, we're going all out and have invited special guests to make it the most exciting event we've ever had. Hosted by Calgary's most famous drag king, Shane Onyou, you'll get to experience the performance and sass of some of the biggest drag stars our city has to offer: Valerie Hunt | Argintina | Misty Meadows | Step Onyou | King Neptune | Nada Nuff | Angelina Starchild | Dayna Hart 80's apparel encouraged - no costume is too fancy or too much this year. Go all out and get ready to slay the night away at When Words Collide! This is a 16+ event. Singing along and interacting (respectfully of course!) with performers is encouraged. Refund Policy
Festival Weekend Passes, Saturday Night Showcase Tickets, and Master Class Passes are refundable. If you are unable to attend, full refunds will be granted until January 31, 2025. A 50% refund is available for cancellations between February 1, 2025, and July 31, 2025. Unfortunately, no refunds will be issued after August 1, 2025.

All presenters will receive a complimentary festival pass and an honorarium. Applications for presenters and panelists will open in early 2025, with more details to come. If you purchase a festival pass and are later selected as a presenter, we will provide a full refund.
