Volunteer to Join Team WWC

When Words Collide is a 100% volunteer run festival. Our organizers work throughout the year coordinating venues, guests, speakers, marketing and more, so that we all have a terrific annual festival celebrating the written word.

We also need volunteers during the festival to make the experience even more enjoyable.

Join our team of volunteers and receive:

• a full 3-day pass to the festival
• access to our hospitality suite
• 2 lunch tickets that can be used at the hotel snack bar (sandwich or salad + drink)
• One $15 Merchant coupon (good as cash in the Merchants Corner)
• One Festival T-shirt, book bag, or a 2nd $15 Merchant coupon

Volunteers may join any one of our volunteer teams and assist that team's manager.

Team 1: Registration

• Hand out name badges and program books to registered attendees.

Team 2: Hospitality Assistant

• Assist the hospitality hostess in greeting and assisting festival attendees, and interfacing with the hotel staff when required.

Team 3: Atrium Programming

• Ensure speakers have fresh water.
• Keep a head count of attendees for each session.
• Ensure sessions start on the hour and ends 10 minutes before the hour.

Team 4: Tower Programming

• Ensure speakers have fresh water.
• Keep a head count of attendees for each session.
• Ensure sessions start on the hour and ends 10 minutes before the hour.

Team 5: Pitch Session / Blue Pencil Café Monitor

• Ensure that people enter their session when scheduled.

We ask that volunteers work with their team for a minimum total of eight hours during the festival.
